Our Approach
If your baby or toddler is struggling with sleep, we have solutions that are gentle and effective for both you and your child.
Sleep disturbances in babies and toddlers can be a result of many factors. Whatever the cause, the effect on both child and family can be enormous.
The Safe Sleep Space approach has been sought after by thousands of families and is used by professionals around the world. Our techniques are underpinned by research and guided by the Circle of Security framework, recognising that every child and family is unique.
We understand that sleep is not simply a behaviour to be corrected, but a developmental process shaped by connection, regulation and safety. The Circle of Security approach reminds us that children need both a secure base from which to grow and explore, and a safe haven to return to for comfort and reassurance. Sleep sits within this relationship.
We begin by helping you develop a deeper understanding of the child’s individual needs, cues and capabilities. From there, we provide a clear step-by-step guide and practical strategies to create both an emotionally and physically safe sleep space.
With a strong emphasis on healthy social and emotional development, our approach supports responsive parenting, calm co-regulation and the gradual building of sleep capability — allowing families to achieve sustainable change in a loving, informed and secure way.
In addition to supporting parents, Safe Sleep Space also provides Sleep Smart education for health professionals. Our professional training equips practitioners with evidence-based knowledge, practical frameworks and a relationship-centred lens to confidently guide families through sleep challenges. By aligning safe sleep principles with attachment-informed practice, we support professionals to deliver consistent, developmentally appropriate care within their own services.
Our sleep consultants are qualified, experienced health professionals and parents. With patience and expert support, babies and toddlers can develop healthy sleep foundations and the confidence to sleep more soundly — while maintaining the secure attachment that underpins lifelong wellbeing.
